Cookies for breakfast.

I asked Norm to get Nixon a bowl of cereal yesterday...this is what occured. Isn't it funny how far in advance kids open to prepare for what's on the way?

Corn on the cob

Somebody likes it....on the go even. BBQ'ing @ the Walkers.

Forest Festival Parade

Met up with my sister, Krista & the kids to watch the ever famous parade. It was packed, and HOT. Kids enjoyed the first 30-40 min's and were done after that. Nixon was super excited as the parade started, he was waving at everyone, wasn't even afraid of the creepy clowns. He's close to being albino so the extreme sunlight was a bit much for his little eyes, but as you can see...his cool green shades helped out. We did the carnival too, but only for about an hour...so HOT, and really dusty (Nixon has asthma) so we got snow cones left the carnies...oops I meant carnival. Good Saturday!

Skydivers on the loose....lookout!

Norm, Andy (his cousin), & Lincoln (business partner), went skydiving last weekend...it was the first time for all 3 of them.

This was a big deal, they were all VERY excited, and I'm pretty sure horrified at the same time. They all decided that going tandem wasn't for them...too chicken sh*t or something. So, they upgraded to what's called the Accelerated Free Fall for first timers. They took and all day (5-6 hrs) class at Kapowsin Air in Shelton, and then geared up and headed out in the plane around 3:30 p.m. last Saturday. Norm landed first (duh), followed by Lincoln and finally Andy.

They all confirmed that it was the best experience ever, and also the scariest. Norm and Lincoln actually loved it so much, that they went again last Wednesday.

Not for me, but good job being brave and going through with it guys!

The kids came to watch, and were very patient waiting for the guys to land!

My Hard Working Husband

Norm is an extremely hard worker. He has his regular, demanding, hard physical labor, lot of hours job/business, and he really excels at it (customer's make him cookies and send in thank you's....they really do!)

Then, he has his never ending work at home. We purchased our current home last winter, just as the snow storm's were hitting. We moved 3 days before Christmas, so that was a rediculous chore in itself that Norm obviously took the reigns on pretty much by himself. As soon as we moved in we painted the entire interior, within about 72 hours and had a tree up too. We knew that we would have a lot of outside work this spring/summer...but I really never imagined how much...or how time consuming it would be.

So far, we ( I help a little :> ) have built a large stone retaining wall, Installed a sprinker system, and had 5 or 6 loads of top soil hauled in. Got the top soil raked..rolled out...grass seed in the process of being planted/seeded (whatever). That was a tough job, time consuming and really, a lot of sweat. We already have one section of the yard that's already nice and green. This weekend he decided that now was as good a time as any to build a walkway from the driveway to the front porch/deck... he stared yesterday afternoon and is finishing up as I type this.

We've been toying with paint samples for the exterior and have chosen the combo, & in the next couple of weeks that should be happening too!

Point being, this post is dedicated to Norm, a very hard worker who really doesn't complain much and gets a TON of work done and Americool and at Home. Good husband & hard workin' man...sounds like a country song doesn't it?

I threw in a picture of the view off of our deck, so pretty when the sun is out!

Mothers Day (just a bit late)

For mother's day this year we went to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. Last year we did point defiance in Tacoma, both through the mom & me at the zoo day put on by macy's. We're sort of making it a tradition (weather pending). My Fabulous friend Krista and her family went too, and we had a GREAT day. Wild, but really fun and the kids all had a blast (until they melted down at the end of course). We had a picnic lunch in the grassy area by the slides and face painting booth's, fed the birds even.

Anyway, really really fun day, hope to keep the tradition up over the years...and hopefully the walker family will continue it too! Krista & Donny's 3 little girls are such little cuties, as you can see from the pictures. Nixon and Quincie are only 2 months apart, so they really enjoy each other..they even call and talk to one another "hi Quinie...k...love you bye." That's what the conversations usually consists of.

Happy month late Mother's day everyone!
